It’s recommended, but not mandatory. If you miss a session, we’ll send you materials and a summary. You’ll also be able to ask questions in the WhatsApp group.
Sessions are conducted via Zoom, and support is available through WhatsApp. That’s all you need — you can even join from your smartphone.
That’s one of the topics we cover. We’ll assist you in making the case for volunteerism and learn how to ‘sell’ the idea internally.
Yes. You’ll receive document templates, checklists, and — most importantly — your own customised volunteer programme launch plan. Participants who complete all four core sessions will also receive a certificate from PACED.
There are assignments, but they’re not compulsory. Their purpose is to help you apply what you learn to your context. We encourage participants to complete them, but we understand your time may be limited.
There are no strict regional restrictions. Any professional working in palliative care or related fields can apply. However, priority will be given to applicants from PACED’s focus regions: Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Baltic States, and Eastern Europe.

That’s alright. The course helps you establish the foundations and plan your strategy. Even if you implement it later, you’ll have all the tools — and a community to return to for support.
Around 15 hours in total over two months.
Yes. You can apply as a team, although we aim to include participants from a wide range of organisations and regions. However, you're welcome to attend the sessions together using one Zoom account.
We don’t disappear! Participants remain part of the WhatsApp group, continue sharing ideas and updates, and receive peer support. This community of practice helps sustain the momentum.
If you encounter any difficulties during the application process, please don’t hesitate to contact our team at info@paced.org.uk. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
