Esmina Kayibhanova is based at the Centre for Palliative Care in Moscow
, the largest medical institution for palliative care in Russia. As a deputy director for Education, she leads efforts to create continuing education programmes in palliative care for medical professionals and to develop algorithms for providing palliative care.
Esmina has held several other key palliative care education roles based in Moscow. As manager of the Education project of the VERA Hospice Charity Fund
, she was responsible for publishing literature, and organising international conferences, internships, and educational training events for physicians and nurses. She also supervised the work of the NGO Masterskaya Zaboty (‘S
chool of Care’), an educational organisation which trains nurses, care givers, and relatives in the care of critically ill patients.
